Trail in the Niagara Gorge
The most unknown treasure of the Niagara Falls area. Following the Niagara Parkway down river toward Niagara-On-The-Lake, and across from the Butterfly Conservatory, there is a stairway access down the escarpment and into the Niagara River Gorge. On a damp autumn day, you half expect to see hobbits and elves running around in this magical place so close and yet so far from one of the world’s biggest tourist traps.
At this location, you are able to come within inches of the awesome power of the Niagara River. The only thing seperating you from an illegal crossing into the United States is a few hundred feet of raging water and towering rapids.
