A lazy American Alligator soaking up the sun near the Shark Valley Visitor Center at the edge of the Everglades National Park in Florida. This gator was within a few feet of a bench that sat alongside the asphalt trail. He had no interest in the numerous people walking by and taking pictures from sometimes just a matter of a few feet away. At least, he seemed uninterested! In truth, there have been less than twenty deaths in Florida since 1948 that can attributed to Alligator attacks.
